Under what circumstances did you discover the Epstein-Barr virus (doctor, internet…)?
At the doctor’s, following a high fever.
How did you react?
The first time, I waited for it to pass, like everyone else. The relapses as an adult were more complicated.
What are your symptoms? How are you supported (doctor, family, association…)?
My symptoms are episodes of fever, severe fatigue and unresponsive muscles (thus severe tachycardia during sports, followed by very poor recovery).
How does the Epstein Barr virus affect your daily life?
I’m constantly tired, and it affects morale. I can sleep half the day. And I have a sore throat too.
Why do you think it is important to raise awareness about the virus?
Doctors still think that the “chronic” version does not exist!
Would you like to share anything else about your experience?
Yes, it is transmitted to all members of the household, and it is necessary to be careful and to inform also the spouses, children, etc. An unexplained and long-lasting change of form, headaches, all these things that spoil life can have an identifiable origin.
